I’m Bthrx (Branthrax) – a stay-at-home dad, bug bounty hunter, and lover of the outdoors. I enjoy hacking mobile apps and reverse engineering malware.
My journey started in the late 90’s early 2000’s clearing off malware I’d manage to get on the family computer which was a ton of dangerous amount of regedit with no backups. After failing to make a career in music happen, I got locked into a career in retail without much idea of what I wanted to really be doing. In 2019, Mr. Robot and Dark Net Diaries planted the hacking seeds, leading me back towards something I never really thought of as a possible career, but looking back on was very obvious. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once I heard about bug bounties I decided to make a move, which also coincided with my new found status as a stay at home dad. I started learning web dev and web app security. I enjoy those things, but what excited me the most was malware reversing. This is what I like most about mobile hacking, its a mix of web dev and reverse engineering.
In my free time, you’ll find me with my kids, hiking, and bouldering. I’ve been plant-based for over a decade.
